From November through April, not only can you find great things to do in Las Vegas itself but you can also find wonderful winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding just a short 45 minute drive away on beautiful Mt Charleston. The base lodge is located at 8,510 feet with lift one taking you to 9,310 feet and lift two taking you to 9,370 feet up the mountain. The longest run is 3000 feet and has 11 trails 60% of which accommodate intermediate level ski enthusiasts with another 20% designated as advanced trails. The lodge features a restaurant and shop. No need to pack your “woolies” for this vacation however, since you can rent not only ski equipment but also jackets or bibs to help you stay warm in the cold weather. To get to the Ski Lodge, take U.S. Highway 95 north approximately 30 miles to Highway 156. Turn onto highway 156 and travel 17 miles to the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort.
